Two people are behind bars accused of murder after Tulsa police said they sold drugs to a man who then died from an overdose.

The Tulsa Police Department is getting a big financial boost to help fight violent crimes. 

U.S. Attorney Jeff Sessions honored Tulsa Police Sergeant Mike Parsons Thursday, who was shot in the line of duty July 3rd at the QuikTrip at I-44 and Harvard.

Taylor Rogers is accused of selling a gram of heroin to 19-year-old Jillian Searle who died in March after being found unconscious by her mother.

Police say 1,500 pounds of marijuana is off Tulsa streets following a major drug bust last week. Federal prosecutors also charged a Tulsa man with drug trafficking following that seizure. 

Tulsans got the chance to sit down with the city's police chief Thursday for Tulsa Police Department's "Coffee With A Cop" program.

Every patrol officer in Tulsa now has a body camera.

The City of Tulsa will open a new municipal jail at midnight. Police will divert low-level offenders there instead of the county jail.
